Classic Milk Tea Bubble Tea – Recipe (With Optional Cheese Cream Topping)

Lots of you have been asking me for a classic milk tea bubble tea recipe over on my Instagram page. So here you go!


I love a good sweet-salty cheese cream topping, so I included it in the recipe – but feel free to omit if you like your classic bubble tea, well, classic.

Ingredients For Bubble Tea:

3 tbsp black tapioca pearls, cooked to pack instructions in boiling water
2 tsp caster sugar
250ml water
2 tbsp loose black tealeaves
50ml evaporated milk
1 tbsp condensed milk
Ice

Ingredients for Cheese Cream Topping (Optional):

1 tbsp cream cheese
2 tbsp double cream
1 tsp more caster sugar
Pinch of salt

Method:

1. Drain your cooked tapioca ad stir in the caster sugar.

2. Place the water in a pan and bring to the boil. Add the tea leaves and simmer for two minutes, before draining and discarding the tea leaves.

3. Whisk together the two milks in a small bowl.

4. If you're adding the cheese cream topping, make it now simply by stirring all the ingredients together.

5. Layer up your bubble tea: tapioca, followed by ice, then the tea, milk, and cheese cream.

Stir well, enjoy, and have fun.
